As a florist, few things are more fulfilling than bringing a couple's vision to life, especially when that vision is as refreshing and vibrant as a fall wedding. Last fall, I had the joy of working on such a wedding at the stunning Mint Museum in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina, and I’m excited to share the details with you.

The Mint Museum Uptown is a gem in the heart of Charlotte. Situated in the city center, it offers a modern, artistic backdrop that’s perfect for a contemporary wedding. With its sleek architecture, expansive windows, and impressive art collections, the museum provides an elegant yet dynamic setting that effortlessly combines urban sophistication with artistic charm.

The bride and groom wanted their special day to exude a sense of fun, welcoming, and intentionality, all wrapped up in a modern flair. They envisioned a neutral and dusty champagne color palette, with pops of orange subtly incorporated to reflect the season’s beauty. Our goal was to create a wedding atmosphere that was not only visually stunning but also felt fresh and invigorating, like a crisp breeze on a fall day.

Inspired by the timeless elegance of stone walls, we designed the ceremony space to echo this natural beauty. Unique stone pillars were the centerpiece of our design, each one holding lush floral arrangements that combined both fresh and dried flowers. This juxtaposition of fresh blooms against the rugged texture of the stone pillars and concrete details of the venue created a striking visual contrast that was both modern and timeless.

The floral arrangements featured a blend of neutral tones, soft orange hues, and dark brown accents to create contrast and mimic the foliage found during the fall season. Ivory and cappuccino roses, white sweet peas, bronze mums, and beige carnation were complemented by the warm, muted orange of apricot tulips and ranunculus. Dried elements such as bleached babies breath and preserved ruscus added texture and depth, enhancing the natural, organic feel of the design.

For the reception, we aimed to make a big statement with a minimalist approach. The tablescapes were designed to be clean and elegant, allowing the beauty of each element to shine through. Preserved bleached ruscus lined the tables, with stone bud vases featuring a mix of fresh and dried flowers in our chosen color palette intertwined throughout. The combination of neutral tones and soft oranges, along with the textural interplay of fresh and dried elements, created a romantic and modern atmosphere.

To add a touch of warmth and intimacy, we incorporated taupe pillar candles and votive candles in sleek, modern holders. The soft, candlelight enhanced the ambiance and made the space feel cozy and welcoming. Each place setting was carefully curated to be both stylish and functional, with elegant tableware and understated linens that complemented the overall design.

The combination of neutral and dusty champagne colors with subtle pops of soft orange created a palette that was both modern and timeless, perfectly capturing the essence of a fall day. The stone-inspired ceremony design and minimalist yet impactful reception tablescape provided the perfect setting for a day that was fun, welcoming, and intentional.

Seeing the joy on the couple’s faces as they celebrated their love in such a beautifully curated space was a reminder of why I love what I do. There’s something magical about transforming a vision into reality, especially when it results in a day as unforgettable as this one.

Every detail was intentional, from the stone accents and the neutral color palette with fall hues to the blend of dried and fresh flowers and the minimalist design. Each element worked together seamlessly to let the city backdrop shine, striking a perfect balance of trendiness and subtlety. If you’re planning a wedding or special event, I hope this inspires you to create a day that feels just as fresh, welcoming, and intentional. Remember, sometimes the simplest designs can make the biggest statements, and every detail, no matter how small, contributes to the overall beauty and magic of the day.

with love from,

Kris
